POWAIR creator Nir Averbuch from Sound Radix explains. Adaptive Compression is designed to maintain an average compression action, adding intensity and glue while keeping the natural dynamics in the recording. Finally, a brand new feature brings a different take on dynamics control. The unique Punch feature is designed to enable full control over the transients levels during the Attack stage making it possible to shape the transients length while keeping peak levels under control. POWAIR uses an innovative gain detection and reduction engine, capable of fast gain changes with minimal distortion and adaptive response to the recorded source signal, which enables users to be able to maintain the timbre of the source material even when the plug-in is working hard. Whether you need to deliver tracks to EBU specifications or control the levels of a dynamic performance, the loudness leveler has been designed to smoothly ride your tracks and get them to your target loudness. The first stage in POWAIR is a K-weighted BS1770 perceived loudness (LUFS) auto-leveler. POWAIR is a two-stage leveler/compressor plug-in, designed to control dynamics and bring a sense of power to vocals, instruments, and mixes. Sound Radix announced POWAIR at the beginning of AES 2017 and now they have released this plug-in which they describe as "a smarter, more natural sounding dynamic processor" with an introductory price of $119 instead of $149.
